On 15 February 2022, Samantha Lovrich and Tatiana Lenz, Co-Founders of Legal Tech Helper demonstrated Divorce Helper, an empathetic guided pathway that allows consumers to gain a rapid understanding of the legal process around separation and divorce.

Legal Tech Helper designs and builds solutions for law firms and organisations looking to custom-build legal products for different client segments, and create better digital front doors, with automated intake, document generation and workflow.

In this session, Samantha and Tatiana:

• Discussed the benefits and use cases of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) in the legal industry
• Briefly discussed docassemble, a FOSS expert system for guided interviews and document automation
• Shared tips for building accessible and inclusive web applications that minimise cognitive load on end users
• Highlighted issues around safety and family violence, user experience and accessibility.
